Johan Dalgas Frisch is the son of Danish immigrant Svend Frisch and Margaret Ellen. Dalgas Frisch who came to reside in Brazil in 1927. Johan was registered at the Consulate of Denmark as he was born. His great-grandfather, Enrico Mylius Dalgas, gained fame in Denmark by transforming the desert region of Jutland in a vast forested area. His father, Svend Frisch, drew the majority of bird species in Brazil.
In 1950, he joined the industrial engineering degree from Mackenzie University, graduating in 1955. His first job was at the factory lines Current. In 1958, he traveled to Scotland, where he stage at the headquarters of empesa and wishes to know ornithologists and European collections of songs of birds recorded in Europe.
On returning to Brazil, Johan design a cardboard megaphone to record the singing of birds. His initial design was refined and Johan then create a dish for the same function. On a trip to the Pantanal, performs several recordings of songs of birds.
In 1962, Johan recorded his first album, Song of the Birds of Brazil, on vinyl LP, which was released simultaneously in Brazil, London and New York. This record remained eighteen weeks in a row for first place in the bestseller list in Brazil. The following year he released his second album, entitled Voices of the Amazon, which contains the song of the wren.
In 1964, launches the book "Birds in Brazil", co-authored with his father Svend. He begins his fight for the creation of Tumucumaque Park (which was created by decree signed by President Costa e Silva, in 1968, and enlarged and turned into Mountains National Park Tumucumaque in 2002), in the Brazilian Amazon. That same year, his son Christian was born Dalgas Frisch.
In 1976, designs and builds wastewater treatment of sewage from the International Airport of Guarulhos. Five years later, launched the second edition of "Brazilian Birds. In 1992, he received the title of Honorary Citizen of Texas, for having rescued and repatriated a peregrine falcon.
In 1994, he launched with his son Christian's book "Garden of hummingbirds. In 2001, launches the book "The 12 Songs of Brazil." His fourth book was released in 2002 entitled "Harmonious corners of America."
